Creating the intended results is largely an aspect outside of your direct control. It rests with your sponsors, stakeholders, champions, supporters and the users. Focus on enabling them to succeed by helping them use the output.
This is where more than technology/science, we need the Emotional-Intelligence aspects and a high reliance on marketing, communications, training, networking, and engagement/adoption.
Every user is unique and want to know the "What Is In It For Me" (W3IFM) value for them. Some easily accept, some can be influenced with more information, others brought over with some focused coaching and push, while a few will be stubborn and put up resistance.
That's where we come in.
